Creativity has been the heartbeat of my life for as long as I can remember. My Mamaw was my very first teacher, placing a paintbrush in my hand at an early age and fostering a love of crafting throughout her life, she was my biggest cheerleader, constantly encouraging me to create. I also owe a deep appreciation for the past to my grandparents, who instilled in me a love for collecting and the beauty in antiques.
My path wasn’t a straight line to the studio, though. I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in nursing and spent 25 years dedicated to helping others. A few years ago, health issues made it necessary to step away from healthcare. While that transition was difficult, it opened the door for me to finally pursue my one true love: art.
Today, I am proud to say that alongside my husband, Jason, we run A Touch of Whimsy by Amanda.
As a multimedia artist, I find it impossible to define myself by just one category. I’ve tried—and loved—almost every medium out there. Whether I’m painting, creating jewelry, sculpting with clay, upcycling, or reimagining furniture, I love the freedom to think outside the box. Having such a wide range of skills allows me to pull from different mediums to create pieces that are truly unique and one-of-a-kind.
Thanks for being apart part of our journey!
